I’m Victor from Holy Mess Repairs. We’re roofers, plumbers and repair tradespeople, and we handle any kind of emergency around the home or business, 24 hours a day. If water, weather, a failed fitting or an accident has left your property unsafe or unliveable, call us. We’ll make it safe that night, fix what can be fixed on the spot, and then quote the long-term repair.

Before we get there
- If anyone is in danger, call 000. For fallen power lines, stay well clear and call your electricity distributor’s faults line.
- Turn off the water at the main stop tap (usually near the meter at the front boundary) if a pipe or fixture is leaking.
- Turn off the power at the switchboard if water is near power points, lights or appliances, and only if you can do it safely without standing in water.
- Smell gas? Don’t use switches or flames, open doors and windows, get out and call the gas emergency line.
- Move valuables away from the water and catch drips with buckets and towels.

After-hours emergency pricing, up front
After hours there’s a $330 call-out fee, and the minimum charge for an emergency repair is $550. We tell you both on the phone before we head out, so there are no surprises at the door. If the job is bigger than an emergency fix, we make it safe first, then give you a written quote for the long-term repair before any more work starts.
Make-safe tonight, long-term fix after
An emergency visit has two jobs. First, stop the damage getting worse: water stopped, power made safe, the roof or opening covered. Second, find the cause so it doesn’t happen again. Where we can, we fix the cause on the spot. Where the proper repair needs materials, a dry day or more trades, we document everything with photos, explain the options and send a written quote before we start.
Emergencies and insurance
Sudden events like storms and burst pipes are often covered by home insurance. Gradual leaks and wear usually aren’t. We photograph the damage and the cause, and record what we did, so your insurer has what it needs. Whether a claim is accepted is up to your insurer.

Water was coming into the hallway because the tiles had become porous, the sarking underneath was torn, and a valley over-bedded with mortar was damming rainwater under the tiles. We removed the excess bedding, storm-sealed the area, and recommended permanent tile and sarking repairs.

Emergency weatherproofing report from Traralgon. Several roof tiles had shifted or had broken lugs, so they no longer locked together and water could get in. We realigned the tiles where possible and secured a heavy-duty 3.6 by 3.6 metre tarp over the worst section to stop further internal damage until permanent repairs.

Emergency make-safe report from Bonnie Brook in Melbourne’s west. Cracked and missing mortar on the ridge capping was letting rain into the home. We recorded the damage on video, then installed a heavy-duty tarp over the leak area, positioned so water runs off properly, to protect the inside until the ridge can be permanently rebedded and repointed.

We tarped and sandbagged both areas to make the home watertight and checked the wet downlights for electrical safety, with photos of every step.

Slipped tiles & valley repair · Pakenham VIC
Before-and-after repair report from Pakenham. Concrete roof tiles had slipped along a valley, leaving a gap that exposed the battens and let water into the roof space. We refitted the tiles, installed new metal valley flashing, cut the tiles to fit neatly and rebedded the ridge, then checked the internal electrics for moisture damage.
