Pipe burst? Water through the ceiling? No hot water at all? Call us now. We answer 24 hours a day, and we come to fix it, not just turn off the water and leave you without it until Monday. All of Melbourne, plus regional towns within about 2 hours.

We fix it that night, not just isolate it
I’m Victor from Holy Mess Repairs. A lot of after-hours plumbers will come out, shut the isolation valve and leave. The leak stops, but so does your water, and you’re paying a second call-out to get it fixed.
We do it differently. Our plumbers carry the parts to actually repair burst pipes and get hot water going on the spot: copper and PEX pipe and fittings, valves, flexible hoses, hot water elements, thermostats and relief valves, and cistern parts. The goal is that when we leave, the water’s back on and the problem’s fixed.
And the phone is genuinely answered 24/7 by a real person.
What counts as a plumbing emergency?
- A burst or split pipe, inside or outside
- Water coming through a ceiling or wall
- No hot water
- A leak you can’t stop, or a toilet that won’t stop running and overflowing
- A water meter spinning when every tap is off
- Sewage backing up into the house
- A leaking hot water tank
Not sure if it can wait? Call and ask. We’ll tell you honestly.
Before we get there
- Turn off the water at the main stop tap, usually near the water meter at the front boundary. For a single fixture, use its isolation valve.
- Turn off the power at the switchboard if water is near light fittings, power points or appliances, and only if it’s safe.
- Turn off the hot water system (switch or gas) if the leak is on the hot side or the tank is leaking.
- Catch and move. Buckets, towels, and move valuables away from the water.
- Take photos for your insurer.
- In a life-threatening emergency, call 000.
How our emergency plumbing works

- You call, we answer. Any hour. We’ll talk you through finding the stop tap if you haven’t already.
- We confirm the cost on the phone before we head out.
- We find the cause. Burst joint, failed hose, split pipe, failed valve or hot water fault.
- We repair it on the spot with the parts in the van, and get your water back on.
- Photos and notes for you and your insurer, plus a price for any follow-up work.
After-hours emergency pricing, up front
After hours there’s a $330 call-out fee, and the minimum charge for an on-the-spot repair is $550. We tell you that on the phone, before we come, so there are no surprises at the door. If a job is bigger than an emergency fix (for example, re-piping a section of the house), we’ll make it safe, get water back where we can and price the rest before starting.
Burst pipes and insurance
Sudden burst pipes and the water damage they cause are often covered by home insurance; gradual leaks and wear usually aren’t. We photograph the cause and record what we found and repaired, so your insurer has what it needs. Whether a claim is accepted is up to your insurer.
